Happy Sunday gorgeous people, and Happy Mothers Day to any mammies reading this! what a beautiful day it is, the sun is out and Spring really has sprung. Isn’t there something about nice weather it puts everyone in a better mood! So, Summer is fast approaching and if you’re not bikini ready now is the time to start thinking about getting in the shape you want to be in this Summer. Make this the year you become the best version of yourself, do it for you!
Following on from my last post on Educo Gym I’ll continue the story. I maintained my weight loss all over Christmas so I was delighted with that, it was nice to enjoy the festivities and the treats and just relax.
January came around almost too quickly but I got back to my routine and I hit the gym. The Gym has become part of my life and I love working out now, I do it for my mind as much as for my body! A couple of weeks later Educo asked me if I would be interested in collaborating with them and doing another twelve day programme. I had done it before and I knew it worked so of course I said yes. I followed the same programme as the first 12 days so my training and my food were the same. I was a little apprehensive about whether I would get the same results as before, because I didn’t have as much weight to lose. I’ve learned from experience that the last few pounds can be the hardest to shift!
So how did I get on?
The training and the food had become second nature to me as for the first time in my life I have developed a healthy relationship with food and I have realised that I don’t need to starve myself to lose weight. I can, and do eat lots of food but it’s mostly healthy food with the odd treat thrown in, it’s all about balance that’s my mantra and it is working for me!
I found the 12 day programme really manageable, realistically it was just an extension of what I was already doing. It was great to have focus and to check in with the trainer and nutritionist throughout. This kept me right on track!
And the results?
I couldn’t believe the results I was getting, my body was changing by the day. When I had my assessment at the end of the 12 days I was leaner and slimmer and looked and felt better than I had in years! With another 9 pounds gone, and two inches off my waist alone I had actually surpassed my goals. I was thrilled!
I can’t tell you enough how happy I am that I have developed a healthy relationship with food and exercise. I have more energy and I feel healthy and happy in my own skin. I credit Educo Gym with this transformation in myself.
It’s not about being the best, it’s about being the best I can be. It’s about looking in the mirror and loving the girl I see looking back at me. There’s so much pressure these days to be perfect and to look perfect but we need to be kinder to ourselves and stop comparing ourselves to others.
