Beauty Brunch with The Make Up Fairy

Hi everyone,

It’s the end of October already can you believe it?? I don’t know where this month has gone! November is a new month and a fresh start for anyone that needs one!

Anyway October brought me the excitement of meeting a lady who I have followed for a long time, Joanne Larby aka The Make Up Fairy. The event was a beauty brunch at the Ardilaun Hotel in Galway and was hosted by the Into The West Blogger Network – ITWBN. After the fun I had when I attended my first ITWBN event last month I knew it would be worth the trip up from Cork. I had my friend & fellow blogger LJ of anythingbutmarzipan with me so our chats and lols made the journey seem much quicker!

On arrival in Galway we were greeted with some gorgeous fruit punch and it was lovely to see all the smiling blogger faces! Everyone is so friendly and it was great to have the chance to meet some bloggers I hadn’t met before.

Joanne took the time to go around and introduce herself and chat with everybody. She was there with her mum who she affectionately calls the Mama Fairy. I had a great chat with her mum about everything from weight loss to weddings, she’s a fabulous lady!

Then it was on to brunch where we were treated to gorgeous nibbles both sweet and savoury. We were spoilt with organic teas by Solaris Tea to wash it down.

There was ITWBN goody bags for each of us packed with fabulous products for us to try!

Once we had eaten Joanne took to the microphone for a Q & A. She answered every question and was refreshingly honest. She gave many nuggets of invaluable advice and the one thing she said which has stuck with me is “one down two up”. Basically when something goes wrong for her she tries to make sure two other things go right! Her positivity is infectious.  There’s more to this lady than meets the eye and she has spent years working hard to build her brand.  She was voted one of the top 6 people in the world to follow by Vogue and I certainly agree with this!

Joanne has been an inspiration to me on both my fitness and my blogging journey and it was such a pleasure to meet her in person. She works extremely hard, she’s gorgeous, stylish and grounded. She’s a real girl boss in my eyes! She is launching her book this month – The Fairy Tales and I cannot wait to get my hands on it! (I hope Santa is reading )

After the Q&A Joanne took the time to take pictures and mingle with everyone.

There was also a chance for us bloggers to meet some brands in attendance including My Lady Bug, Kinvara Skincare and AthloneTown Centre.

My leather trousers are from Zara and it was my first time wearing them even though I have them for almost a year (There’s a story behind that but I’ll tell you that one another day)

My top is also Zara, Cape is Oasis and shoes are Primark. LJ did my hair and I applied my own make up.

Any questions please do not hesitate to get in contact!

Until next time girls,

Remember “One Down Two Up”

Lisa BFF
